How to Renew an Item

Need a bit more time with your borrowed items? No problem! Here's how you can easily renew your loan at the Guildford Library of Things.

Renewal rules

How many times can I renew?

Items have a maximum number of renewals allowed. If you’ve reached this limit, you won’t be able to renew the item further. Most items can be renewed once, but more popular items cannot.

When can I renew a loan?

You can renew an item loan after you're halfway way through the loan period as long as it hasn't been reserved by another member.

1. Go to “My Account”

Start by logging in to your account on our website. Once logged in:

  • Click on your account in the top menu, this is normally your name
  • Select “Loans” option from the dropdown menu. This will show you a list of all your current loans.

2. Find the “Renew” Button

In the “Loans” section, look for the item you want to renew.

If it can be renewed, you’ll see a “Renew” button in the Actions column next to the item.

Note: If you can't see a renew button, it means that the item cannot be renewed right now.

3. Choose a New Return Date

After clicking the “Renew” button a small window will pop up. Here, you can choose a new due date.

4. Confirm the Renewal

Once you have picked the date, you can confirm the renewal. You’ll see a confirmation message and receive an email with the updated due date for your records.

By following these simple steps, you can make the most of your borrowing experience while supporting the community at the Guildford Library of Things. If you have any questions or need assistance, contact us by clicking here.
