We’ve Won Our First Award!
We’re thrilled to share some exciting news—the Guildford Library of Things has won its very first award! This week, we had the honour of attending the Stars in Surrey Awards, where we accepted the Greener Futures Award.
The awards night was an incredible experience. Not only did we get to celebrate our win, but we also met amazing people and organisations making a real difference in the community.
It was so inspiring to hear stories of impact, a couple of groups that really stood out to us were:
- Autism by Experience, supporting people with autism.
- The fantastic Godalming Repair Café, which has fixed over 1,000 items and provided opportunities for local Duke of Edinburgh students.
Spreading the Word
Of course, we couldn’t miss the chance to share our mission! We came armed with flyers and posters, enthusiastically chatting with anyone who’d listen. At one point, we even found ourselves in front of a 360-degree camera—feeling like stars on the red carpet!
What is the Greener Futures Award?
This award celebrates those who inspire their colleagues, partners, and community to prioritise environmental sustainability.
Nominees for this category have demonstrated:

- Dedication to volunteering in the community to protect nature and reduce resource consumption.
We’re honoured to be recognised among such incredible changemakers!
